State of the market: optimism returns to the market
At the opening of Friday trades, the main currency pairs strengthened against the US dollar. Considerable growth against the American dollar is seen in commodity currencies and gold. This is due to increased optimism and keeping risks. So, yesterday the British Parliament voted to extend the Brexit deadline until the end of June. This did not actually affect the pound, but kept the uncertainty over Europe.
At the start of the day, the Bank of Japan meeting results were also published, which kept the monetary policy unchanged. At the same time, the overall tone of the Central Bank of Japan remained very soft, indicating the possibility of a decrease in the yen.
From the start of the day, the US dollar index has been trading lower, thanks to the strengthening of commodity currencies. The US dollar index managed to significantly slow down the decline, feeling for support at 96.50-40. But the overall downward trend in the American dollar continues to persist, limiting itself to the resistance of 96.80-70.
