The US Department of Labor will publish a report on employment outside the agricultural sector in February at 15:30 (Kiyv). The main attention in this report will be attracted not even by the indicators of employment, but by the growth of salaries.
According to the consensus forecast, workplaces are expected to increase by 204 thousand after an increase of 200 thousand in January. It is also projected that, after the January value of 4.1%, the unemployment rate in the US will drop to 4.0% – the minimum value for 17 years.
The focus will be on the average hourly wage in the US. Judging by the forecasts, it will increase by 0.3% after a similar growth value a month earlier. On an annualized basis, salary growth is projected to be 2.8%, slightly down from 2.9% in January, the highest figure in more than eight and a half years.
