Expectations for the upcoming week
The last full working week of July promises to be very full of news. If you take into account the scheduled news, the beginning of the week will be very restrained: data on sales in the secondary real estate market in the US (Monday) and business activity in Germany’s manufacturing sector (Tuesday) will be published.
The increase in volatility on the news is expected from Wednesday, when employment data in New Zealand, inflation in Australia, the business climate in Germany and the sale of new homes in the US will come out. Despite the richness of the Wednesday, the main day of the week will be Thursday thanks to the publication of the ECB protocol and the subsequent press conference. On Friday, preliminary data on US GDP will close the week.
In addition to the planned news in the week, the market will expect the continuation of the development of the situation around Trump’s comments on a strong dollar and, as a result, assess the likelihood of an increase in US Federal Reserve rates and risks with rising protectionism in the US.
