Expectations for the upcoming week
Last September’s week will be full of meetings of the world’s Central Banks, among which the US Federal Reserve meeting deserves special attention. The main event of the week will be the US Federal Reserve meeting on the interest rate held on Wednesday. In addition to the fact that this meeting is expected to raise the key rate by 25 bp, to 2.25%, the market will wait for a hint on rate increases in the US at the end of the year. This, probably, will play a major role in the dynamics of the US currency.
The second half of the week is full of significant news also, that it is worth to focus your attention. On Thursday, the results of the RBNZ meeting will be published and the US GDP for the second quarter will be announced. Speeches by the heads of the Central Bank of the euro area, the United Kingdom and the United States will also take place this day and can significantly increase the growth of volatility in the market.
Business activity data in China, GDP in the UK and Canada will close the week and month on Friday and will support very high volatility in the market by the end of the week.
Risks of trade confrontation will influence the market during the week, that, amid expectations of higher rates in the US, will intensify activity in the market at the start of the week. (Dani Leviant)
