State of the market. The US dollar strengthens positions
The US dollar strengthens positions across the entire spectrum of the market amid rising demand for risky assets, which is caused by a decrease in the profitability of the government bonds of the world’s leading economies. The profitability of the US government bonds decreased by -0.23% on average, the profitability of government bonds of the United Kingdom decreased by -0.14%, eurobonds reduced their profitability by -0.10%.
Due to a decline in demand for security assets, the Japanese yen lost more than half of its earnings against the US dollar during the Asian session. Earlier support for the yen was provided by data on the level of wages in Japan.
- The change in the average wage level in annual terms in November was 0.9%, exceeding the previous value of 0.2%.
- The level of payments for overtime work on an annualized basis showed an increase of 2.6%, which is higher than the previous value of 0.2%.
