On Thursday, January 11, 2013, attention should be paid to the US economic calendar, namely the data on the producer price index (PPI). The producer price index (PPI) is an inflation indicator and measures the average change in prices for goods and services of domestic production from the seller’s point of view. When producers pay more for goods and services, they thereby shift higher costs to the consumer, which increases consumer spending.

According to the forecast, the change in the producer price index (PPI) in December will be at the level of 0,0%, which is lower than the November value at the level of 0,4%. On an annualized basis, the growth of the indicator will be 2.8%, which is lower than the previous value at the level of 3.1%. In case of data release within the forecast, the US dollar will be under pressure, against which one should expect the US dollar to fall within 30 points against its competitors.
