On Monday, February 4, a small amount of news about Australia, Great Britain and the USA will be released. Activity at the start of the day will be low because of the Chinese New Year, which will last the whole week.

  • At 02:30 – construction permits (m/m) (December) in Australia will be published.
  • At 11:30 – construction business index (Jan) UK will be released.
  • At 17:00 – the US data will be published: nondefense capital goods shipments (excluding aircraft) (m/m) and  industrial orders (m/m) (November).

On Tuesday, February 5, the day is saturated with the results of the RBA meeting, data on business activity in the UK and the USA.

  • At 02:01 – BRC retail sales from (y/y) (January) UK will be released.
  • At 02:30 – data on retail sales (m/m) (December) and the trade balance (December) of Australia.
  • At 05:30 –  the Reserve Bank of Australia will announce the interest rate decision (Feb).
  • At 10:55 – index of business activity in the German services sector will be released (January).
  • At 11:00 – Markit’s Composite Business Activity Index (PMI) (January) and the Eurozone service business activity index (January) will be published.
  • At 11:30 –  index of business activity in the services sector (January) in the UK will be announced.
  • At 12:00 – retail sales (m/m) (December) will be released in the eurozone.
  • At 15:30 – trade balance of Canada (December)  will be released.
  • At 17:00 – ISM non-manufacturing employment will be released (January) and ISM non-manufacturing business activity index (PMI)  (January) in the United States.
  • At 23:30 – API weekly crude oil inventories will be published.

On Wednesday, February 6, the day is saturated with data for the United States.

  • At 03:30 – the speech of the RBA Governor Lowe.
  • At 09:00 – production orders in Germany (m/m) (December) will be released.
  • At 12:00 – the EU will publish economic forecasts.
  • At 15:30 – the US data will be released: housing starts, core retail sales index (m/m), exports, imports, nonfarm productivity (q/q) (Q4) and unit labor costs (q/q) (Q4).
  • Also at 15:30 – construction permits (m/m) (December) in Canada will be announced.
  • At 17:00 – Ivey  business activity index (PMI) (Jan) of Canada will be released.
  • At 17:30 – stocks of crude oil in the United States will be published.
  • At 23:45 – employment change (q/q) (Q4) and the unemployment rate (Q4) in New Zealand will be released.

On Thursday, February 7, the focus of the market will be on the Bank of England meeting results.

  • At 02:30 – NAB (quarterly) Australia Business Confidence Index will be released.
  • At 09:00 – industrial production in Germany (m/m) (December) and the trade balance of Germany (December) will be published.
  • At 14:00 – the Bank of England inflation report will be released, the total amount of the Bank of England QE program (Feb), the interest rate decision (Feb) and the Monetary Policy Committee meeting minutes.
  • At 15:30 –  initial jobless claims in the United States will be announced.

On Friday, February 8, the day is saturated with data for Japan and Canada.

  • At 01:30 – Household Expenditure Index (m/m) (December) and Household Expenditure Index (y/y) (December) of Japan will be announced.
  • At 01:50 – adjusted current account of the balance of payments will be released (seasonally ) and current account non-seasonally adjusted) (December) of Japan.
  • At 02:30 – the RBA’s monetary policy report will be released.
  • At 08:45 –  unemployment rate in Switzerland, seasonally adjusted (January) will be released.
  • At 09:00 – trade balance in Germany (December) will be published.
  • At 15:15 –  housing starts,  employment change (January) and the unemployment rate (January) in Canada will be released.
  • At 20:00 – number of Baker Hughes oil rigs in the United States will be announced.
