FOCUS OF THE WEEK!
Dear traders,
The last week of January will be full of events, especially its second half. This week, market attention will be focused on data on inflation, GDP, employment, and meetings results of world central banks.
On Wednesday, market attention will be focused on inflation data in Australia, preliminary data on the US GDP and the US Federal Reserve meeting results. On this day, the focus of the market will be on the US data, among which are the preliminary data on the US GDP, where the US economy is expected to slow down.
On Thursday, the day is full of data on business PMI in China, employment in Germany and Canada’s GDP, which will have a significant impact on national currencies.
On Friday the data on business activity in China, the eurozone and the UK will close the week and month. The main event of the day and week will be the publication of an employment report in the United States, from which they expect restrained negative statistics, which will have an impact on the American dollar throughout the week.
The corporate reporting calendar will be full of reports more than ever, thanks to the publication of corporate giants’ reports. The following companies will publish reports this week: Apple (AAPL), eBay (EBAY), Boeing (BA), Facebook (FB), McDonald’s (MCD), Microsoft (MSFT), Qualcomm (QCOM), Tesla (TSLA), Amazon.com (AMZN), General Electric (GE), Chevron (CVX) and Merck & Co (MRK).
Of the fundamental factors, the market will continue to be influenced by geopolitical risks in the United States, the US – China trade relations, and the continued the US government shutdown. Despite some reduction in tension about Brexit, many questions still remain open. Separately, it is worth highlighting the new political crisis in Venezuela, which will affect the oil market significantly. (Anton Hanzenko)
