GDP of Great Britain and Canada in Focus!

- Today, at 11:30 (Kiev), the National Statistical Service of the United Kingdom (ONS) will publish the final value of the UK GDP for the third quarter of 2017.
According to analysts, the UK economy for the third quarter will show an increase of 0.4% on an annualized basis. This value will not be reviewed after the previous evaluation. It is expected that the initially recorded annual GDP growth of 1.5% will also not be revised.
Last week, Bank of England officials voted for the maintainance of an interest rate at 0.5% due to uncertainty over Brexit, low wage growth and low labor productivity.
Political events are also at the forefront of investors who will follow any news regarding Brexit after British Prime Minister Teresa May has reached an agreement with the EU to move from discussing terms of exit from the EU to trade-related negotiations.
- At 15:30 a monthly report on Canada’s GDP will be published. It is expected that the report will show that in October the Canadian economy grew 0.2% after a 0.2% increase in September.
Also, in Canada, attention will be drawn to reports on the volume of retail sales and inflation.
This month, the Bank of Canada kept the interest rate unchanged and lowered its growth forecasts next year due to the uncertainty over NAFTA negotiations.
