In 1 hour, at 15:30 (Kiev) – Release of the basic consumer price index for Canada and the base retail sales index.
The leading analyst of Ester Company A.Sivtsov writes:
“The base retail sales index is a measure of all sold goods of different types of retail trade except automobiles. They are important indicators of consumer spending and the pace of economic development. The consumer price index measures the change in prices of goods and services from the consumer’s point of view and is a key way of measuring inflation rates.
- According to the forecast, the base retail sales index in August will grow by 0.3%, against the growth in July at 0.2%.
- The volume of retail sales will grow by 0.5% in August, which is higher than the previous value at the level of 0.4%.
- The consumer price index (CPI) will grow by 0.3% in September, against the previous value of 0.1%. On an annualized basis, the growth rate will be 1.6%, which is higher than the previous value at 1.4%.
The release of data within the forecast will support the Canadian currency. Based on this data, one should expect its strengthening within 30-40 points against competitors.”
