On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, attention should be focused on the UK consumer price index. The consumer price index (CPI) measures the change in the prices of goods and services from the point of view of the consumer. This is a key way to measure changes in UK buying and inflation trends.

According to the forecast, in January the indicator will decrease by -0.4%, against the growth of the previous month at the level of 0.4%. On an annual basis, the indicator will fall to 2.9%, which is lower than the previous level at 3.0%. If the data released within the forecast, the pound will be under pressure, as a reduction in the rate of inflation will reduce the chances of raising the Bank of England interest rate, against which one should expect the British currency to decline within 40-50 points against its competitors.
