On Wednesday, January 2, the main trading platforms will resume their work, but trading volumes will be reduced.

• At 03:45 – Caixin manufacturing business index (PMI)  (December) of China.
• At 10:55 –  manufacturing business index (PMI) of Germany (December).
• At 11:00 – business activity index in the manufacturing sector (PMI) (December) in the eurozone.
• At 11:30 – the UK Manufacturing PMI (Dec).
• At 16:45 – manufacturing business index (PMI) (December) in the USA.

On Thursday, January 3, it is worthwhile to focus on US statistics.

• At 10:15 –  retail sales in Switzerland (y/y).
• At 10:30 – PMI of Switzerland from SVME (December).
• At 11:30 –  index of business activity in the construction sector (December) UK.
• At 15:15 – ADP nonfarm employment change (December) United States.
• At 15:30 – initial jobless claims in the United States.
• At 17:00 – ISM manufacturing employment index (December) and ISM business activity index  in the manufacturing sector (PMI)  (December) United States.
• At 23:30 – API weekly crude oil inventories in the United States.

On Friday, January 4, the economic calendar will be eventful due to the holidays. Among which, a particular attention is given to inflation data in the euro area and employment in the United States.

• At 03:45 – Caixin service business index (PMI) of  (December) of China.
• At 09:00 – Nationwide house price index (m/m) (December) in the UK.
• At 10:55 – employment data in Germany.
• At 11:00 – Markit Eurozone composite index of business activity (PMI) .
• At 11:30 –  the UK business services index.
• At 12:00 – consumer price index (CPI) (y/y) (December) in the eurozone.
• At 15:30 – an employment reports in the US and Canada.
• At 17:15 – the speech of the Fed Chairman Mr. Powell will take place.
• At 18:00 – crude oil stocks in the United States.
• At 20:00 – number of Baker Hughes oil rigs in the United States.
