FOCUS OF THE WEEK!

Dear traders,

A moderate amount of news is expected this week. News will focus on employment and inflation data.

On Monday, start of the week will be quite restrained, from the planned news it is worthwhile to single out China’s GDP data, which may have a significant impact on the market in the absence of other data. On Tuesday, the day is more saturated with statistics. So, they will publish an inflation data in New Zealand, the RBA meeting minutes, employment report in the UK, retail sales in the United States. All data will have a significant impact on national currencies and set the tone for trading during its trading sessions.

On Wednesday, the market will be focused on data on producer price indices (CPI) of the UK, eurozone and Canada, which will have a significant impact on national currencies, despite modest expectations. Starting on Thursday, the saturation of the economic calendar will decline. This day, there will be employment data in Australia, retail sales in the UK and manufacturing activity in the United States. On Friday, the calendar will be almost empty;  inflation data in Japan and retail sales in Canada will be released.

Among the fundamental factors, the US Federal Reserve’s rhetoric about monetary policy and uncertainty about the US-Chinese trade talks should be highlighted.

The calendar of corporate reporting in the week will be rich, which will set the mood on the stock exchanges. This week the reports of such large companies are expected:

  • Monday: Citigroup (C)
  • Tuesday: Goldman Sachs (GS) and J & J (JNJ),
  • Wednesday: Bank of America (BAC), IBM (IBM), US Bancorp (USB),
  • Thursday: Microsoft (MSFT), Morgan Stanley (MS),
  • Friday: American Express (AXP).
