FOCUS OF THE WEEK!

Dear traders,

The upcoming week promises to be saturated with data on inflation and employment, which will shift the market focus from data for the US and the eurozone to other, equally significant, global economies.

The beginning of the week promises to be very restrained in terms of news. So, on Monday, it will be retail sales dat in the US, which in conditions of low activity and lack of news will affect the dynamics of the American dollar.

Starting on Tuesday, the economic calendar will be filled with significant statistics. This day, investors will be focused on the inflation data in New Zealand, the publication of the RBA protocol and employment in the UK. Special attention should be paid to the UK data, which, against the background of the Brexit negotiations, may have a significant impact on the British pound.

On Wednesday, investor attention will remain focused on Europe, thanks to the publication of inflation data in the UK and the eurozone. Also by the end of the day the US Federal Reserve protocol is expected to be published, which is likely to confirm the optimistic market expectations regarding US rates. However, its effect on the US currency will be limited.

On Thursday we should pay attention to employment in Australia, sales in the UK and manufacturing activity in the United States. These news and will set the mood in the market.

The data on China’s GDP and inflation in Canada will close the week. Particularly noteworthy statistics on China, which will set the mood in the global stock markets.

The corporate reporting calendar will also be quite saturated this week. The reports of: Bank of America (BAC) (publication on Monday); (Tuesday) Goldman Sachs (GS), IBM (IBM), J & J (JNJ), Morgan Stanley (MS), Netflix (NFLX); (Wednesday) eBay (EBAY); (Thursday) Philip Morris (PM); (Friday) Honeywell (HON), Procter & Gamble (PG) are worthy to be highlighted.

Among the fundamental factors, it is worth highlighting the Brexit negotiations, which are coming to the final phase, and the situation around the US trade confrontation and the Fed raising interest rates, which can get a new turn.  (Anton Hanzenko)
