FOCUS OF THE WEEK!
Dear traders,
This week the world financial markets will be focused on data on retail prices in the US, which should clarify the situation regarding the state of affairs in the US consumer sector.
Market players will also pay close attention to statements by FRS officials next week to get an idea of the future course of the monetary policy of the US central bank and the number of interest rate increases by the end of the year.
Wall Street analysts disagreed as to whether the Fed will raise the interest rate two times by the end of the year according to the official plan or three times, as some economists predict.
During the week on Wall Street, another ten companies covered by the S&P 500 index will present their reports, amid the end of the quarterly reporting season. Among the most important will be reports of leading retailers: Home Depot, Macy’s and Walmart.
Across the Atlantic, the attention of traders will be focused on employment data in the UK, which will give grounds for predictions about the Bank of England’s interest rate hike this year after statements in favor of a soft monetary policy at the last meeting of the central bank of the UK.
In Japan, the revised data on economic growth in the first quarter will be published. Traders are interested in new information on the state of the region’s economy, and also when the Bank of Japan starts to wind down financial incentive measures.
Market players will also monitor other events that may cause investors’ concerns next week. For example, they will be interested in the course of the talks in Washington on the renegotiation of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), which may be completed before the established deadline set for Thursday.
Also, the close attention of investors will remain chained to trade negotiations between the US and China.(Investing.com)
