- Housing starts (m/m) (Aug), the fact of 12.3%, the forecast of 4.5%.
In Canada:
- Core Consumer Price Index (CPI) (m/m) (Aug), fact -0.1%, previous value 0.3%.
- Core Consumer Price Index (CPI) (y/y) (Aug), fact 1.9%, forecast 2.2%.
- Consumer Price Index (CPI) (m/m) (Aug), fact -0.1%, forecast -0.2%.
U.S. construction data exceeded all expectations and confirmed the strength of the US real estate market. The level of construction of new homes in the United States has reached its high over the past 12 years, but due to market restraint in anticipation of lower rates in the United States, the American dollar has not received proper support.

Data on consumer inflation in Canada turned out to be restrained, showing inflation on a monthly basis, but slowed down on an annualized basis. This limited the growth of the Canadian currency and confirmed the downward trend in consumer inflation in Canada.
