At 11:30 (Kiyv), the National Statistical Office of Great Britain (ONS) will publish a monthly report on employment. The main attention in this report will be attracted not even by the indicators of employment, but by the growth of salaries.
- It is expected that the number of applications for unemployment assistance in March will increase by 13.3 thousand, and unemployment will remain stable at 4.2%.
- It is predicted that the growth rate of salaries including premiums will increase by 2.7%, which is slightly below the growth rate of wages by 2.8% recorded in February.
If the report data is worse than forecast, a new wave of pound sales may occur. In the week, the rate of the British currency fell slightly against other major currencies after statements in favor of a soft monetary policy, sounded at the meeting of the Bank of England.
During the week, the Bank of England kept the interest rate unchanged. At the same time, officials of the central bank of Great Britain said that the weak economic growth in early 2018, most likely, is only a temporary phenomenon. However, it is necessary to wait for the resumption of economic growth in the coming months before raising the cost of credit.
