Market Focus

On Thursday, May 24, 2018, the market will be focused on data on Europe.

• First, there will be a publication of data on Germany’s GDP, which will be perceived by the market very closely, despite modest expectations.
• After that, will be a speech of the head of the Bank of England Carney. From this speech, no loud statements are expected, but comments on inflation and rates will be perceived very rapidly.
• Then, statistics on retail sales in the UK will be released. It is expected that there will be a very significant growth, which can help the pound to adjust after today’s decline.

In the afternoon, the publication of the ECB protocol will take place, in which investors will continue to seek hints of tightening monetary policy in the euro area.
