Expectations for the upcoming week
The first week of the month, as always, promises to be saturated with statistics, among which there is a special abundance of data on business activity in the manufacturing and service sectors. This statistics will be published throughout the week by all key countries.
The publication of the RBA’s interest rate protocol and the speech of US Federal Reserve Powell on Tuesday deserve specia; attention. Fromthe RBA it is not expected any changes in monetary policy, but the protocol itself can cause growth in activity for the Australian dollar. Closer to the end of Tuesday, a speech by the Federal Reserve Chairman will take place, which will probably repeat the words spoken during the FRS press conference, which may renew optimism for the American dollar.
The main events of the week will come out on Friday with the publication of the US employment report (NFP). Expectations from this report remain restrained positive, which is a reduction in the unemployment rate by 0.1%. Fears are only of a forecast on the number of employed in the non-agricultural sector of the US, that may decline more significantly, after growth in August. (Anton Hanzenko)
