Japan’s GDP this night! (Preliminary data)

According to forecasts, Japan’s economy will grow by 0.2% over the last three months of the year, compared with a growth of 0.6% in the third quarter. In annual terms, the growth of the Japanese economy should be 0.9%, which can be called a sharp slowdown compared to a growth of 2.5% in the third quarter.
It is predicted that consumer spending in Japan, which is approximately 60% of GDP, rose 0.4% in the fourth quarter after a 0.5% decrease in the third quarter of 2017.
In addition to the GDP report, Japan will also publish data on the volume of base orders in engineering, which are considered a good indicator of investment for the next six to nine months.
Recently, there have been several signals that the Bank of Japan is going faster, than predicted, to begin winding down its quantitative easing program, following the example of the Fed and the ECB.
