EUR USD today: the market is waiting for the US jobs report
At the opening of trading on Friday, the EUR EUR pair is trading with a strengthening on the correction after yesterday’s decline. Pressure on the pair yesterday was caused by weak data on the euro area and an increase in optimism regarding an employment data in the US. This allowed the American dollar to strengthen significantly against the euro.
Events for today:
- At 15:30 – the US employment report will be released: average hourly wage (m/m) (mar), nonfarm payrolls (March), private nonfarm payrolls (mar) and unemployment rate (mar ).
- At 20:00 – the number of Baker Hughes oil rigs in the United States will be announced.
The main event of the day will be the publication of a jobs report in the United States, on the expectation of which the market continues to be restrained in adjusting its position on the American dollar.
A pair of EUR USD from the start of the day is trading with a strengthening of the weakness of the American dollar. At the same time, optimism about the US employment data remains significant, which can also cause an overvalued dollar amid expectations. The actual movement in the pair and in the market as a whole can be expected on the jobs data in the United States. Before that, movement in the flat is expected from 1.1240-50 to 1.1210-00. Support levels: 1.1200, 1.1180 and 1.1160, resistances: 1.1250, 1.1280 and 1.1300.
