EUR/USD today: the dollar retains an onslaught
The EUR/USD pair remains under the pressure from the US currency, which is strengthening across the market. Additional support for the American dollar provide risks associated with the weakening of stock indices and uncertainty around the global economy.
Events for today:
- 15:45 – Fed Chairman Powell will speak.
- 17:00 – JOLTS job openings (May) in the USA
Today is a day full of speeches by the US Federal Reserve representatives, including Fed Chairman Powell. From these speeches hints at the US monetary policy and lower rates cut will be expected. Therefore, an increase in volatility in these presentations is not excluded.
- 17: 10– FOMC member Bullard will give a speech.
- 21:00 – the performance of Bostic, a FOMC member, will take place.
- 21:00 – FOMC member Quorls speaks.
EUR/USD remains under pressure from a downtrend, limited to resistance levels: 1.1220 and 1.1240. Significant support is located at levels: 1.1170, 1.1150 and 1.1130.
