On Monday, 08/01/2018, attention should be focused on data on retail sales in the euro area. This indicator is a monthly measurement of all goods sold in retail trade. It is an important indicator of consumer spending, which indicates the confidence of consumers and is seen as an indicator of the growth rates of the Eurozone economy.

According to the forecast, the volume of retail sales in the euro area will grow by 1.0% in December, against the October decline of -1.1%. On an annualized basis, the growth of the indicator will be 2.4%, which exceeds the previous value of 0.4%. The release of data within the forecast will support the euro, one should expect the strengthening of the single currency within 30-40 points against the competitors.
