INFLATION IN THE EURO AREA! DO NOT MISS!
Dear traders,
In the euro area, investors will assess the inflation data on the month to see how quickly the ECB will start to wind down its financial incentive program.
Data on inflation in November in the euro area will be released today, at 12:00 (Kyiv).
According to the consensus forecast, the report will show that consumer prices in November rose by 1.6%, which is 1.4% higher than October’s growth, but still below the ECB’s target value – just below 2%. Perhaps more important will be the core inflation rate, which does not include energy and food prices. According to the forecasts, the basic inflation will remain at 1.0%, compared with 0.9% in the previous month.
Last month, the ECB announced a reduction in the volume of monthly bonds repurchase from January in half. However, at the same time, the European Central Bank extended the program of quantitative easing until the end of September, promised many years of soft monetary policy and left open the door for changes in the other direction due to weak inflation.
