On Thursday, February 28, the economic calendar is full of statistics, among which are the data on business activity in China and the United States and preliminary data on US GDP.

At 01:50 – data on industrial production in Japan will be released:
– Industrial Production (MoM) (January), forecast -2.4%, previous value -0.1%.
– Retail sales (y/y) (Jan), forecast 1.4%, previous value 1.3%.

At 02:30 – data for Australia will be released:
– Private new investment (q/q) (Q4), forecast 1.1%, previous value -0.5%.
– Housing credit (m/m) (Jan),  forecast  0.3%, previous value  0.2%.

At 03:00 – data on business activity in China will be published:
– Manufacturing PMI (Feb), forecast 49.5, previous 49.5.
– Non-manufacturing Business Index (PMI) (Feb), forecast 54.5, previous 54.7.

At 08:45 – Switzerland will release GDP:
– Switzerland’s GDP (y/y) (Q4), forecast  1.7%, previous value  2.4%.
– Switzerland’s GDP (q/q) (Q4), forecast 0.4%, previous value -0.2%.

At 15:00 – German consumer price index (CPI) (m/m) (Feb) will be announced, forecast  0.5%,  previous value  -0.8%.

At 15:30 – preliminary data on the US GDP will be published:

– GDP deflator (q/q) (Q4), forecast 1.7%,  previous value  1.5%.
– Initial jobless claims, forecast 221K,  previous value 216K.

Also at 15:30 – data for Canada will be released:
– Current account balance (Q4), forecast -13.5B, previous value -10.3B.
– Commodity Price Index (RMPI) (m/m) (January), forecast 4.1%, previous value 3.8%.

At 16:45 – PMI will be announced in Chicago (Feb) USA, forecast 57.0, previous value  56.7.

At 23:45 – construction permits (m/m) (January) in New Zealand will be released,  previous value  5.1%.
