Market focus

Thursday, 17.01.2019, is full of statistics, but the market depends more on the general mood that is set by geopolitical factors. At the start of the day, investor attention will be focused on statistics for Australia and waiting for data on China’s GDP. The latter will set the mood in the stock markets.

Closer to the middle of the day, market attention will shift to an inflation report in the eurozone. The dynamics of the single currency will  depend largely on this report, especially after the reticent comments of the ECB President on inflation. In the American session, attention will be switched to construction data in the United States, from which they expect restrained negative data.
