FOCUS OF THE WEEK!

Dear traders,

This week, the economic calendar will reduce news saturation a bit.

On Monday, from the planned data, it is worth to highlight the data on business activity in Germany, which will affect the euro noticeably in conditions of low activity. On Tuesday, the saturation of the economic calendar will increase a lot. Attention on this day should be paid to the trade balance of New Zealand, data on consumer confidence in the United States and the speech of the  US Federal Reserve Chairman.

On Wednesday, the activity on the market will be notable thanks to the news. At the beginning of the day, the RBNZ protocol will be published, from which interest rates are expected to remain. In the American session, the main event will be the publication of the durable goods orders. On Thursday, despite retail sales in Japan and inflation in Germany, the main event of the day will be the publication of the US GDP, which will be the main event of the day.

On Friday, a significant amount of news is scheduled. At the start of the day inflation data in Japan will be published. On the European session inflation data in the euro area and key EU countries is expected. Also the UK GDP for the first quarter will be published. Trades in the US session will be saturated with statistics on expenditures in the US and Canada’s GDP.

A fundamental risk factor, in addition to the upcoming G20 meeting, is the growth of military tensions in the Middle East, which at any time may escalate into an open military conflict between the US and Iran.

The corporate reporting calendar includes a small number of reports that have a moderate impact on the stock market. (Anton Hanzenko)
