FOCUS OF THE WEEK!

Dear traders,

The upcoming week will open with low liquidity due to the early closing of the previous week on the occasion of the celebration of Good Friday and the partial closing of trading in Catholic countries on the occasion of the celebration of Bright Monday.

On Monday, an increase in activity is expected at the end of the day, on the publication of data on the United States: manufacturing business activity (PMI) and sales in the secondary housing market.

On Tuesday, market activity will recover, but the economic calendar will remain restrained by the news. Significant data is expected in the American session, which will publish wholesale sales in Canada, business activity in the US services sector and sales of new housing in the US.

On Wednesday, the saturation of the economic calendar will reach a maximum. Early in the day inflation data in Australia are expected. In Germany, an assessment of the business climate will be released, Canada will publish the results of the Bank of Canada meeting, followed by a press conference.

On Thursday, market attention will be focused on data from the Bank of Japan meeting results and durable goods orders in the United States. The Central Bank of Japan is not expected to change its monetary policy, but the Central Bank may lower its forecasts for growth rates amid the global economic slowdown.

On Friday, you should pay attention to the trade balance of New Zealand, inflation in Japan and data on the US GDP. The growth rate of the US economy is expected to be very restrained, which will have a limiting effect on the American dollar.

The corporate reporting calendar will be full during the week. From the published report is to highlight:

  • Tuesday: Coca-Cola (KO) and Procter & Gamble (PG),
  • Environment: Boeing (BA), Caterpillar (CAT), Facebook (FB), Microsoft (MSFT),
  • Thursday: 3M (MMM), Amazon.com (AMZN) and Intel (INTC).

Because of what is expected to be high activity in the stock markets.

Fundamental factors have now faded into the background, but the risks of aggravating  the US and the EU trade relations remain a significant factor. (Anton Hanzenko)
