Analysis of the American Trading Session

During the American session on Wednesday, 02/05/2018, the US dollar strengthened its positions against most of the major market currencies. Basically, the strengthening of the American was caused by the expectation of the publication of the results of the April meeting of the Fed. It was decided to keep the discount rate unchanged at 1.75%.

In the accompanying statement, the Fed leadership repeated that it expects a gradual increase in the interest rate, which had a temporary pressure on the US dollar. The rest of the comments, pointing to a moderate economic growth and a good situation in the labor market. Also, the support to the American was provided by the reduction of anxiety about inflation, which in the medium term will be about 2.0%.
