Analysis of the American trading session

During the American session on Monday, February 12, 2018, the US dollar has fallen in price against most of the major market currencies. This movement in the market was due to technical factors against the background of the lack of a significant news background and any other catalysts for the movement in the market.

The British pound continued trading under pressure during the US trading against the US dollar and almost did not change its positions against the US currency. The main pressure on the British currency is exerted by a concern about Brexit, because the probability of an increase in the interest rate of the Bank of England at the May meeting decreased to 61%, while on Thursday the probability was 70%. Comments by the chief economist of the Bank of England Haldane influenced the course of trading. Haldane noted that the Bank of England will slowly increase interest rates to stabilize the level of inflation.
